The Penny Antics
We are a minimalist Grunge/Punk band from Essex, England. We aim to
make each song in our repertoire different from the last by changing things
tonally, structurally etc and this is reflected by the band’s imagery as well.
(Our logo, album and EP covers all tend to stick to a bold, black and white
aesthetic)
The band released their ten song debut album 'Reminder' on 20/01/15, a five song EP 'NOT(e)WORTHY' on 04/03/18, an eight song remix album 'Lockdown Sessions' on 22/05/20 and another ten song album 'AN ALBUM!' on 12/07/24.
Accolades:
- On 27/08/17 we won the Dagenham Roundhouse ‘Battle of the Bands’
competition, where we got the opportunity to perform with Dr Feelgood and
Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel. We were asked back the following year
where we supported Sweet.
- Our song 'Manners' was played on BBC Introducing in Essex's show on
14/09/18.
- On 20/04/19 we supported TV Smith (The Adverts) for his show at The
Venue in Southend-on-Sea.

Testimonies:
"...the Antics have been gigging steadily across their home country, including a high profile
show at the legendary Asylum Club in Chelmsford with STIV CANTARELLI & THE SILENT STRANGERS as well as a storming appearance at the Cosmic Puffin Festival in April." - Gerry Ranson, Vive Le Rock, 2016
"These guys are a duo from my own home county of Essex and they perform a kind of grunge/punk rock that’s sure to get your blood pumping and your head banging. Awesome." - Adam Reeve, Exploding Head Syndrome, 2016
